If some part of you feels like it's breaking down lately — your body, your moods, your sense of who you are — I want to gently offer you a different word. You're not breaking. You're changing. Menopause can feel like loss, and it's okay to grieve the things that are shifting. But it isn't decline, and it isn't the end of your vitality — it's a transition into a new chapter, the way puberty once was, just far less talked about and far less supported. Much of the unsteadiness you're feeling right now is your body recalibrating, not failing. And on the other side of it, so many women describe a kind of clarity and freedom they didn't expect — fewer apologies, clearer boundaries, a stronger sense of themselves. So on the hard days, try trading "what's wrong with me" for "I'm in the middle of a change." You're not broken. You're becoming.
